How much does the featured event service cost?
There is a once-off charge of $75 (US).
How do I order the featured event service?
Click on the "promote event" link on any page on the Conference
Alerts website, provide the information required, and click on
the "Order Featured Event Service" button. You will be taken to
a secure server where you can pay by credit card. Once your credit card payment has
been authorized we will let you know
and start implementing the featured event service - usually
within 48 hours.
Why are five different publicity channels included in the featured event service?
People use Conference Alerts in different ways to find out about
upcoming events - by subscribing to the alerting service, doing online searches,
general Internet search engine searches that bring them to our pages,
browsing country and topic pages, and so on. The featured event service ensures
maximal visibility for your event across all these channels and over a sustained
period.
What about people who do not know about Conference Alerts?
Over the past three years Conference Alerts has become a central hub for information
about upcoming academic and professional events. It is very prominently positioned
on Internet search engines for many event-related keywords and phrases, receives
a large amount of traffic and has thousands of subscribers. Many of those who use
Conference Alerts as an information source are themselves academic "knowledge brokers"
such as journal and newsletters editors, moderators of discussion groups, and website
and database administrators, who will ensure that your event is -
- listed on many online conference databases and websites in addition to our own
- posted on a large number of targeted academic discussion lists
- included in the "events" sections of journals and periodicals
- circulated to academic departments and professional organizations.
For how long will my event be publicized?
Different elements of the service continue for different periods of time.
- The special announcement/call for papers is sent out straight away -
usually within 48 hours.
- Conference Alerts Monthly is sent out in a staggered fashion over a calendar month.
Your event will be a featured event in one edition of Conference Alerts Monthly and
will therefore be included in copies sent out for a period of one month from when
it is first included.
- The highlighted featured event box on topic and country pages will also be
displayed during the course of that month.
- Highlighting in online search results will start straight away and continue
until the date of your event (so if your event is two years from now, it will
be highlighted for two years).
Will I be able to change my event details once I've ordered the featured event
service?
Yes - you can edit your event details (including the event description) at any time.
The changes will take effect immediately in copies of Conference Alerts Monthly that
are sent out and in online searches. Changes will be reflected on topic and country
pages when these are next updated - usually weekly or more frequently.
Can I order different elements of the featured event service separately?

Do you accept advertisements for products other than events in Conference
Alerts Monthly and on your topic and country pages?
Yes, but only if the product will in our judgement be of interest to the
