Putting a conference search box on your site is a simple
matter of pasting in a few lines of HTML. Just fill in the
two bits of information below, click on "generate" and the
necessary HTML for putting a search box on your page
will be displayed.
What are default keywords?
A word or words that will appear in the search box on your page. For
example if your page is about cognitive science, you may want to
put cognition, cognitive science, cognitive psychology.
You could also just put cognit which
will find all keywords starting with "cognit...". Or, you can choose
not to have any default keywords - just leave the information above blank.
If you do supply default keywords, users who want to search for something
else will be able to change the keywords.
Is there any cost involved?
No - this is a free service.
Does the search program or database have to be placed on my server?
No - the search box on your page simply submits the query to the software on our server.
Will users by taken away from my page?
No - the search will open a new window, leaving your page visible in the first window.
What will the search box look like?
Can I change the appearance of the search box?
Yes. If you know how to modify the HTML you are welcome to do so,
for example, you could include the Conference Alerts logo or change
the text font and colors.
Will people who use the search box be shown ads?
At the moment the search results screen shows only a list of conferences
and links to various parts of the Conference Alerts site, but we may
include paid ads in future.
Can I change what the search results screen looks like?
At the moment no - the standard Conference Alerts search results screen
will be shown. However, we plan on adding customization options in future
so that you can fine-tune the results to blend in with the appearance
of your site.
What about the fine print?
Conference Alerts attempts to provide a reliable, accurate and comprehensive service.
However, we cannot be held liable for any incorrect information that
may be conveyed as a result of using the service nor can we guarantee
the availability of the service.
